First in line: Steve Callahan, a 53-year-old drummer, shared a bill with the Beach Boys during the ’70s and got every band member — except Wilson, who didn’t play the concert — to give him an autograph. Callahan bought front-row tickets last week and brought his copy of 1965’s The Beach Boys Today! “I’m here to hear him sing,” Callahan said, “but I want him to sign my record.”
Road trip: Steve and JoAnn Schwartz drove up from Atlanta for the show. “Brian Wilson is the greatest musician of all time,” says Steve, 53, an emergency room physician who has seen Wilson perform on three other tours. “I named my son after him.” Next stops for the tour: Wednesday in Ann Arbor, Mich., then Thursday in South Bend, Ind.
